Great Grandma Dorey's Donuts

This recipe can be done either tin traditional oil fry or adapted to an air fryer.

Ingredients:

​2 cups flour

4 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

​1/2 tsp nutmeg

2 tbsp butter

​1 cup sugar

2 eggs

1 cup milk

Instructions

1. In a large bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg.

​2. Melt butter. Combine with sugar and eggs in separate bowl.

​3. Add wet mixture to the dry mixture.

​4. Add milk to the dough mixture. Dough will be wet.

5. Turn dough out onto floured surface kneed dough until it feel firmer and slightly bouncy to touch.

6. Cut out donuts.

7. Fry in canola oil on the stove or in thr airy fryer at 375 for 12 mins flip halfway through.

8. Add glaze if desired once donuts are cool.

​Glaze Ingredients 

2 cups powdered sugar

2 tsp cinnamon

​7 tbsp milk

​1/4 tsp salt

Rocky Road Bars

Ingredients 

2 cups marshmallows 

1 cup chocolate chips

1 cup crunchy peanut butter

1 14oz can sweented condensed milk

2 tbsp  butter

1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions 

1. In microwave safe bowl combine chocolate chips, 7oz of milk and 1tbsp butter. Microwave until melted and smooth.

2. In another microwave safe bowl combine peanut butter, rest of the milk and 1 tbsp butter. Microwave until melted and smooth.

3. In and 9"x9" lined pan alternate adding peanut butter and chocolate scoops to the pan. 

4. Once both the chocolate and peanut butter are added lightly swirl the pan with a spoon.

5. Add 1 cup marshmallows and thr chopped nuts to the pan and lightly mix.

6. Top the pan mixture with the remaining marshmallows.

​7. Chill pan mixture for 2 hours then cut and enjoy

Ingredients 

1 bag coloured marshmallows 

1 cup peanut butter

1 cup butterscotch chips

1/4 cup butter

​1 tsp vanilla

Instructions 

​1. In a pot combine peanut butter, butterscotch chips, butter and vanilla over medium-low heat.

2. Once mixture is melted and combined. Remove from heat set aside to cool for 2 minutes.

3. Add marshmallows to a 9"x 13" pan lined with Parchment paper.

4. Add melted mixture to the pan and lightly mix to combine.

​5. Cool in fridge to set for 2 hours.

Chocolate Chip
Muffins

​Chocolate Chip Muffins 

Ingredients 

2 1/2 cups flour

​1Tbs baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

​1/2 cup melted butter

​1 cup granulated sugar

2 eggs

​1 cup buttermilk

​1 Tbs vanilla extract

​1 1/2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions:

​1. Pre-heat oven 425 F.

2. In a large bowl combine dry ingredients and lightly mix together.

​3. Melt butter. Allow it to cool a little and then add the eggs. Mix together.

4. Add the milk and vanilla to the liquid mixture.

5. Pour your liquid mixture into the dry ingredients. Mixture until just combined.

6. Add the chocolate chips. Mix until incorporated.

7. Divide mixture evenly into a muffin tin with 12 spaces. Sprinkle more chocolate chips on the top of each muffin. (This recipe makes exactly 12 muffins).

8. Cook the muffins in the oven at 425F for 5 mins. Then lower the temperature to 350F and cook for another 15-17 minutes until they are golden brown.

9. Remove from the oven then cool before enjoying.
